How to install a Headunit.
Firstly you
need the correct tools. These don’t have to be specialist in anyway
what so ever. Just simple things to make your life easier.
1. A flathead screwdriver.
2. Autoleads connector (available off the shelf from Halfords, costs around
£12).
3. Stereo removal prongs (available off the shelf from Halfords, costs
around £2).
Step
1
Remove the old stereo. Insert the prongs into the holes in the face of
the stereo (pic1). This release the clips inside and allows you to pull
the stereo out. Once you have pulled the stereo out, unplug all the wires
going into the back of it.
You must also remove the cage that the stereo clips into (pic2). Do so
by taking the flat head screwdriver and bending the teeth back straight
that hold it in place. This then slides out.

Step
2
Insert the new cage that should come with your new headunit. Then taking
the flathead screwdriver again, push back the teeth to secure the cage
in place (Pic3). The cage should not be able to move at all.
Step 3
Now you must connect all the wires up. The Autoleads connector makes this
very easy to do.
The Autoleads connector.
Clip together the 2 coloured blocks.
Clip the connector into back of the headunit.

Once all these have been connected turn your key in the ignition and make
sure you have power.
Step
4
Once you have determined that you have power you can proceed to place
the stereo into the cage. Push as much of the wires through as you possibly
can first. The unit should then glide into the cage with ease. DO NOT
FORCE IT.

Now once the unit is in place you are ready to add the plastic surround.
All done. You should now have installed your new stereo into your cc.
