Thorpe Park Meet 2004 - By Riss

more pics below....

The day started remarkably early for some people, having to get up at silly o’clock to reach Sainsbury’s car park Staines for 9am (however the Swindon/Gloucester crew ignored all rules and arrived fashionably late, through no fault of anyone * cough * Nick * cough * ).

After confusing all the Sainsbury’s customers by having the same car (I’m sure it’s a Staines person thing u know), we convoyed down to Thorpe Park, getting quite a few stares along the way, with some SAD people getting in the middle of the convoy and spoiling the view. When arriving, Erm did some smooth talking, and got us “special” parking in the coach park at the front. Somehow we lost Paul during this, he eventually joined us after showing off with his big revving! Piccies taken of cars all in a row, before we pile on up to the entrance!

Once inside, some very mad people went on a very wet ride and were very soggy when they got off – sensible people stayed dry and held all their stuff. This happened quite a few times, and some of us became accomplished stuff holders by the end of the day. Other very scary looking rides were ridden, whilst the more sensible people who liked keeping their food in their stomachs stayed on firm ground.

Then came lunch… and the day went downhill from there! All out marshmallow war was declared, with missiles flying in all directions – poor Jeff had very few sweeties to eat at the end of the day! However this was an improvement on the Swindon Malteser war – they hurt when they hit, unlike squidgy marshmallows!

More rides, and even the more sensible ones were convinced to go on rides as they were told they would not get wet – LIARS!!!!!! I hadn’t realised I cud scream that loud – sorry peeps!!!

Finally on to the fairgroundy bit – Jeff became like a man possessed and refused to let a rope ladder beat him – he got the purple Little Miss in the end – and ahhh bless he gave it to Vanda!!! Bless im!!! Other attempts at being manly included throwing hoops at things, playing with water guns and shooting stuff – no one won anything, all a bunch of girls ;)

So, all in all a fab day was had, most people went home with at least one souvenir – sunburn of one level or another!!!!

Was a good mix of old and new faces, am def looking forward to the next one (have got my bag/coat/sunglasses holding arm at the ready :D
